SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2008 -- The San Domenico Virtuoso Program Orchestra da Camera presents "Bartok at San Domenico," a 'bon voyage' concert prior to our trip to the National Orchestra Festival in Albuquerque. Works by Bartok (String Quartet no. 2, Divertimento), C.P.E. Bach, Puccini. George Thomson, conductor. 3:00 P.M., Bettye Poetz Ferguson Hall, San Domenico School, San Anselmo. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2008 --The San Domenico Virtuoso Program Orchestra da Camera performs at the National Orchestra Festival in Albuquerque. Mozart: Divertimento K. 136; Bartok: Divertimento. George Thomson, conductor. 1:00 P.M., Grand Pavilion, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Albuquerque, NM. Free and open to the public.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MARCH 15-16, 2008 --The Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra presents its annual 'sit-in' concerts for young children. Audience members are invited to sit among the instruments of the orchestra during the brief program. An instrument 'petting zoo' is held after the concert. Works by Smetana, Offenbach, John Williams (a medley from 'Star Wars',) others. George Thomson, conductor. 3:00 P.M. Saturday:Dixie School, Idylberry Road, Lucas Valley (San Rafael); 3:00 P.M.
